Current Rescues: (updated 3/9/10)
Foothill Ranch, CA (Foothill Ranch is located in Orange County, south of Irvine, near Mission Viejo and Lake Forest) (3/9/10) – Smokey is a 6 year old sable boy. He is very sweet and has tons of love to give. He loves to play and he wants to be with his people. He will sit near your computer and watch you move the mouse around waiting to pounce! He is not a big talker, but he will let you know if he has something to say. Smokey is very affectionate and he needs more attention than his current family is able to provide. He is looking for a new home where he can get lots of cuddles and playtime. Please contact Cyn: cyn@dancing-pixels.com
Minneapolis, MN (was Omaha, NE) (3/8/10) – Emergency PLEASE HELP! Harley and Boo are now in foster care in Minneapolis.
Harley and Boo are the ten year old sable boys who were dropped off at a kill shelter in the Omaha area. Their family moved to a new home and left them at the shelter. Both got colds in the shelter in Omaha and were treated at a local vet for several days. They had an offer of a nice quiet home in Minneapolis and were transported there, only to be told at the door that the new owners only wanted one cat. Needless to say, the boys have been together for life, Rescue will not split them up. And now the story of Harley and Boo continues, and they are in foster care in Minneapolis still looking for their forever family.
Everyone who has handled these boys comments on how sweet and affectionate they are. Boo is a talker. He loves tummy scratches and tall places to perch on. Harley gives kisses. Both love everyone.
Can you help Harley and Boo? If you are interested please contact burmeserescue@yahoo.com and don’t forget to tell us a little about your home and experience with cats! And Please, Please, be within driving distance of Minneapolis.
 Harley Boo
Rockfall, CT (2/21/10) – Liesel is a very affectionate purring teddy bear. She is a 5 year old sable girl. She loves to snuggle in the bed. She will follow you everywhere. And she is a very interactive lap cat and a talker. She is great with young children and has worn a Barbie Tiara for as long as 5 minutes! She loves to be the center of attention.
Unfortunately the arrival of a new kitten several months ago has upset her terribly. She has begun spraying and she can be very aggressive toward the kitten. Her spraying has improved on amytriptiline and she never sprayed before the new kitten appeared in her life. She also has an issue with overgrooming. She has been checked by her veterinarian and is in good health.
She is looking for a new home where she can be an adored only cat.

Manhatten Beach, CA (1/14/10) – Egwene is a 14.5 year old champagne girl. She is sweet, gentle and she can be shy, but she can’t resist a feather toy! She loves being brushed. She was registered and shown by her breeder and has been with her current family since she was a year old. A new kitten joined her family and Egwene hides from him. Very recently she started wetting accidents when left to roam, but has had no accidents when she is in her own space. She has been checked by her veterinarian and is in good health. She has a nervous habit of overgrooming areas of her coat sometimes. She lives with a busy family with two very active boys. She needs a quiet home where she can relax and feel loved.

Menlo Park, CA (12/31/09) – 1 year foster (2/2010-3/2011): Zoe is a gregarious, 7 year old, sable girl and she has her fans. She's a typical Burmese: a wonderful lap and bed cat--but she has a strange feral streak which causes her to suddenly attack sometimes. She responds fairly well to “No!”. She does not destroy things, although some soft couches tempt her to scratch. She is fascinated with children, but will give a small nip when she has had enough. She has walloped other cats. She is on medication, once daily for asthma, which her owner will supply. She eats Purina One Indoor food to prevent weight gain. Zoe needs a foster home for one year while her owner is away on an Internship. Her owner loves her and she definitely wants her back! Contact: Christine Therese, telephone 650-862-6412
